Dos and Don'ts

DOs

  1. Always discard your waste in proper places where there are dustbins.
  2. Maintain a safe distance from all wildlife. Be aware that the animals are wild and can be dangerous.
  3. Maintain silence. Total silence and discipline are required to spot and observe wild animals.
  4. Always seek the assistance of a forest department staff.
  5. Follow the rules of the forest.
  6. Follow the “LEAVE NO TRACE PRINCIPLES”

DON’Ts

  1. Do not tease or molest/harm, attempt to attack any wild animal.
  2. Do not bring or use plastic bags or plastic bottles inside forest areas.
  3. Do not discard any foodstuff or littering the land and water bodies of the sanctuary.
  4. No Smoking anywhere inside the forest area.
  5. No Liquor consumption inside the forest area. Do not bring liquor inside the sanctuary.
  6. Video photoshoots are not permitted.
  7. Uploading of videos/photos in social media taken by tourists during/after their visit regarding any wild animal sighting / attempting to trespass and film the sanctuary surroundings for recreation/entertainment purposes in adjoining protected areas is strictly prohibited and may invite immediate legal action.
  8. No loud music play / usage of sound producing gadgets/instruments inside the forest area.
  9. Do not disturb any wild animal by playing loud music, making noises, flashing lights, or making any sudden movements that may frighten animals and birds.
  10. Do not damage vegetation or any fence post, gate, or signpost in the sanctuary.
  11. Do not collect any form of fauna or flora from any locations.
  12. Do not set fire or kindle any fire, or leave any fire burning inside the sanctuary.
  13. No person is allowed inside the sanctuary with a weapon or explosive.
  14. No pet animal is permitted inside the sanctuary.
  15. No person is permitted to wander outside the permitted tourism zones in the sanctuary.
  16. Do not get out of the vehicle other than the designated parking areas. Stop the vehicle only at the designated parking areas.

Violation of the rules/regulations will attract penal provisions under Wildlife (protection) Act 1972 & Tamil Nadu Forest Act 1882.
